RLS, a leading global supplier of high-performance encoders, is launching the AksIM-4™ Dual Concentric off-axis rotary absolute magnetic encoder, a new ultra-thin absolute encoder that integrates two absolute encoders into a single compact device, specifically designed to meet the growing integration challenges of modern robotic joints and advanced motion systems.
As robotic systems continue to evolve – particularly in humanoid and highly integrated automation – space within joints is becoming increasingly limited. AksIM-4™ Dual Concentric addresses this challenge by delivering motor and joint position feedback in one ultra-thin, two-in-one encoder, helping robot builders reduce component count, simplify cabling, and design smaller, more efficient joints without compromising performance.

The design helps engineers save space, reduce system complexity, and continue relying on the proven performance of AksIM technology.
Designed with flexibility in mind, AksIM-4™ Dual Concentric is available with either a standard connector or a board-to-board interface, enabling direct integration with servo drives and supporting a wide range of system architectures. This flexibility allows designers to optimise layouts, reduce wiring, and streamline assembly in space-constrained robotic applications.
As with the entire AksIM family, RLS also offers design collaboration support, working closely with customers to adapt the technology to specific application requirements and integration challenges.
