RLS, a global leader in magnetic encoders, is pleased to announce the introduction of three new outputs for its Orbis™ Rotary Magnetic Encoder System, further enhancing the versatility and precision of its proven product family.
The Orbis magnetic encoder family, renowned for its reliability and high performance in rotary motion control applications, is now extended with new output options for all three module sizes, with 12, 22 and 30 mm inner diameter:
- Analogue sinusoidal output (AC)
- Differential analogue sinusoidal output (BC)
- Incremental and commutation outputs (Ux)
Orbis with analogue sinusoidal output offers sine outputs with one sine/cosine period per revolution, ideal for direct integration to high volume OEM applications.
Orbis with differential analogue sinusoidal output further enhances noise immunity, making it ideal for demanding environments with electrical interference.
Orbis with commutation output has been specifically developed for BLDC motor feedback systems and offers A, B and Z incremental signals as well as U, V and W commutation signals and supports up to 16 poles.
Key features and benefits:
- Through-hole design for easy integration
- Compatibility with 5V power supply
- Analogue output with one sin/cos period per revolution
- Incremental outputs for up to 4096 counts per revolution (cpr)
- Commutation (UVW) for up to 16 poles
- Zero setting function for more flexibility during installation
- High rotational speeds of up to 30,000 rpm
- Non-contact, frictionless design for long-lasting, reliable operation
- Wide installation tolerances, allowing the Orbis™ system to be customised for different applications
The Orbis™ rotary magnetic encoder system now offers even more flexibility for a wider range of industrial and precision motion control applications.
The new outputs can already be ordered via the RLS webshop.
To assist customers in selecting the most suitable encoder for their specific requirements, RLS offers a user-friendly online configurator that simplifies the ordering process. In addition, customers can access comprehensive documentation via the RLS website, including detailed data sheets and 3D models for all variants.
