Aim and Scope of Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy describes the ways in which personally identifiable information about natural persons (hereinafter Users) who visit and use the RLS website (/eng) (hereinafter Website) is collected, stored and further processed by RLS Merilna tehnika d.o.o., Poslovna cona Žeje pri Komendi, Pod vrbami 2, 1218 Komenda, Slovenia (hereinafter RLS), through cookies. What are Cookies and Why are They Being Used on the Website, First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

Cookies are small files that get stored on your device (e.g. computer, tablet, telephone) with which you access the Website. What cookies get stored may depend on your device (web browser) settings. Upon each subsequent visit to the Website, the Website checks the contents of the cookies stored on your device.

Generally, the purpose of cookies is a better experience on the Website or ease of use of the Website for Users. Some cookies also help RLS pursue its legitimate interests, e.g. to sell more products or to get to know better the needs of Users. Example: The User puts some products in the shopping cart but doesn’t checkout. The products get stored in the cookie which is saved on User’s computer. Upon the next visit of the Website, the Website reads the information stored in the cookie and fills the shopping cart with the products. The User can checkout, thus saving time by not having to search for products again. At the same time, RLS increases the chance of selling the products in the cart.

Some cookies are placed on Users’ devices by RLS. These are called first-party cookies. Some cookies are placed on Users’ devices by other entities. These are called third-party cookies.

Legal Grounds for the Use of Cookies

The use of cookies is governed by the Electronic Communications Act (Zakon o elektronskih komunikacijah, ZEKom-2), Article 225.

RLS uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the functioning of the Website or the service without consent, as that Article permits. You can disable them in your web browser settings, but the Website may then not work correctly.

All other cookies — statistics and marketing — are used only with your explicit consent, which you give in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time by choosing Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Withdrawing it deletes the cookies concerned and reloads the page, so that nothing further is loaded.

Which Cookies are Being Used

The table below lists the name of each cookie, what it does, how long it lasts, whether it is set by RLS (first party) or by another company (third party), and which of the three categories it belongs to: Necessary, Statistics or Marketing. Only the necessary ones are set without your consent.

Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
