TSCA is not relevant for RLS products

Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) is a USA legislation prepared by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It is addressing the production, importation, use, and disposal of specific chemicals that are imposing an unreasonable risk to the health or environment.

TSCA currently fully or partially restricts 14 substances or substance families:

  • Asbestos
  • Lead (in paint and paint waste)
  • Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
  • Dioxins
  • Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
  • Metallic mercury (in consumer products)
  • Formaldehyde
  • Nitrites (in metalworking fluids)
  • Hexavalent chromium compounds (on metals used in water treatment)
  • Phenol, Isopropylated Phosphate (3:1) (PIP 3:1)
  • Decabromodiphenyl ether (DecaBDE)
  • 2,4,6-Tri-tert-butylphenol (2,4,6 TTBP)
  • Hexachlorobutadiene (HCBD)
  • Pentachlorothiophenol (PCTP)

RLS products are not chemical substances, therefore this Act is not applicable. Nevertheless, we are performing our due diligence and continuously checking used materials for possible content of listed substances. Please read our RLS TSCA Statement.
